FVDS is celebrating its 22nd year and has become a local tradition that has collectively featured over 35 studios and schools.
Georgia Salerno started the Fox Valley Dance Showcase in 1997 as Orchesis Director of Waubonsie Valley High School. After reflecting on all of the dance talent that exists in and surrounding DuPage County, Georgia was inspired to create a showcase in which schools and studios in the area would have the venue to perform for each other and share their passion for the art of dance. When Metea Valley opened in 2009, Georgia expanded the Showcase to be co-hosted by Metea Valley Orchesis, where she was the assistant Orchesis director until her retirement this past spring. Since 2009, Fox Valley Dance Showcase alternates each year for host location between both Metea & Waubonsie Valley High Schools.
